Sammy is a koala I photographed myself at a wildlife park. In Australia only certified handlers are allowed to hold koalas which sadly is not me. I could pat, coo, tickle and drool over him but could not handle him. I actually agree with this as our wildlife can become very stressed if handled incorrectly. A1 available upon request.

Boss Cocky is another entry of mine into the 2024 Camberwell Rotary Art Show. It’s the first time I’ve painted a cocky and have done so now as this is a little cheeky cherub who hitched a ride with us. We were on the delightful Maldon Steam Train and standing out the back watching the view meander past. This little guy sat the whole way on the railing with us. Why fly when you can hitch a free ride on an amazing steam train.. I promise he struck this pose in an attempt to maybe lure some food with his excessive cuteness ? Not sure but he was magical. Baby Bird is the Winner of the prestigious Camberwell Rotary Art Show Wildlife Award 2024.

Please meet Martin (dad), Hilary (mum) and Princess ( baby bird named by my granddaughters). These are our magpie family who rule - I mean live in our backyard. They enter our house, trust us with their babies each year and generally are part of our day to day. We love them so much and they are so trusting. They are so intelligent and have their own vocabulary of which is evident when you live with them. I feel they are very misunderstood. Once they accept you into their family you are one of them. Little Walter is a little wombat I photographed and have wanted to paint since I met him. He is cheeky, bold and he just made me happy. Go little Walter! A1 prints are available on request.

Holly is my next kangaroo subject in my quest to put our magnificent kangaroos front and centre. As always I paint them looking you in the eye. Asking for your compassion and consideration. These beautiful Australian icons need our protection. A1 prints are available on request.

Red is a little possum who was rescued by the Little Farm Of Calm in Benalla. A beautiful property where animals and humans alike are cared for with such thoughtfulness. Every night Jill takes little Red out of his enclosure to climb trees and do possum stuff. Every night he comes back to her and gives her a little bite as she’s tucking him back into bed. This is little Roger. A much loved local personality in Maldon. He comes with his human to our beloved Kangaroo Hotel. Wanders around. Offers everyone many pats and tummy rub opportunities, cleans the floor of unwanted food ( what a help )and when he’s had enough he sits here…… looking at the door. He is getting old and this painting was created at the request of the Kangaroo Hotel to immortalise Roger as we know him.
