About Robyn

“I hope to encourage you to see my native animal subjects as vulnerable, individual and relevant, as we are.”

Through my photorealism art I hope to encourage you to see my native animal subjects as vulnerable, individual and relevant, as we are.

More than ever I am deeply moved by the fragility of their environment and their reliance on our consideration and responsibility for their survival.

Lovely heritage listed Maldon in Central Victoria is our home and location for my studio, having moved from Melbourne several years ago. A lifelong love of the environment and all its creatures was a big part of the reason for our decision to action a tree change.

A many number of years ago a very renowned female Melbourne artist said to me at an exhibition I was in“ Robyn, your work is technically brilliant but it has no soul”.

I was shattered initially. However I took on board what she said and now I focus less on making my images brush perfect and more on conveying their true individual wonderful personalities through their gaze, their stance and their characteristics. My work is now far from brush perfect but I hope I have replaced this with bucket loads of soul.

I hope I have shared my true love of our amazing animals we inhabit our lives with through my work and hope you find your own piece you have connected with and wish to offer them their forever home. Robyn X.
