My heart breaks for our declining koala population. As a result, I'm always drawn to them as subjects in an endeavour to keep them front and centre in people's minds.
It’s illegal to hold a koala. Only accredited rangers are allowed to do this as it protects them from becoming stressed due to their natural understandable fear of humans.
The closest I’ve come to a koala is when I purchased a koala experience to be able to have a one on one session with a ranger who allowed me to pat this beautiful baby and ask all the questions of which I had many. I only support places where the animals are extremely well loved and cared for and by buying an experience this contributes to their care. I would highly recommend the opportunity to get close to these amazing animals if you can.
