This is a Rhinoceros Hornbill a rainforest bird native to Borneo and Sumatra. They eat mostly fruit and they love figs. The most amazing fact about these beautiful birds is how they lay their eggs. The mother hornbill finds a hollow tree cavity and seals herself inside using mud, food remains and droppings. She leaves only a tiny opening just large enough for her beak. The father hornbill then spends up to three months collecting all her food daily which he passes through the small opening while she stays inside protecting their eggs.
